Yes, it's true... Due to a spyware problem... *sniff* Half the project is deleted. Actually, all recent changes, maps, events, everything, is gone. Luckily, I placed a recent version of the project on a CD-ROM. Wich is gone. If I don't find it back, I don't know what's going to happen to &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;LANDS QUEST: Light and Darkness&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Back to the positive news: I've found this wonderful new (unreleased) game engine, it's some kind of upgraded RPG Maker XP with many more features. I'm looking forward to work with it. M128MORPG? Maybe. M128 3D? Maybe. M128 I Don't know? I Don't know. I Like MMORPGs the best of all genres, so that might be it. But, then, &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;LANDS QUEST II: Mess in Time &lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;and &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;LANDS QUEST III: The Lands History&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; MIGHT be cancelled. Who knows? And remember, the same goes for &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;LANDS QUEST: Light and Darkness&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;. I Haven't worked on PN much, since "someone" would make me some sprites, but it's taking a bit too long. If I continue without them, I would have to change so much that it would take years =X&lt;br /&gt;So I've been looking for tips on making games lately. And, about three days ago, I realized that I made a VERY big mistake; MY GAME LOOKED CRAPPY!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For example, all houses were general "triangle on a block" designs; way to simple, boring, and unrealistic. Another example, everything was FLAT and UNNATURAL. Even the mountains where simple "walls with stairs and some flowers". So I started remaking all maps, and it REALLY looks better. However, since I'm really doing my best to make the new maps, even a simple house takes me already about 10 minutes. Even tough it depends on the areas (mountains take lots of time, fields don't) the release won't be this year.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Okay then. Now, the name!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/7530/3266/320/Name.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Err, yes, that's the name ^.^ Why "Light and Darkness"? That's got stuff to do with the storyline, wich I'll keep secret for a while. I'm trying to avoid cliches by the way, so it won't be a "collect the X artifacts to defeat the evil wizard&lt;br /&gt;-insert evil villain guy name here-" story.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Oh, and last but not least: There will be sequels. (I haven't started on the co-op yet.) I'm making some changes to the power ups. The blocking block (It was worthless) and the bomb (The other player has to be REALLY stupid to come close to it. Worthless item to.) are deleted.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Secondly, the 2nd main character: Swapping between your 2 characters would not only be kinda hard since there aren't many buttons left but I'd also have lots of problems when the main character changes his graphic (in menus for example) No, that would be too hard. You'll only see the old main character no. 2 back in the multiplayer.&lt;br /&gt;But, there will be a follower. Maybe a pet???&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well, as I already told you, gardening is deleted. Fishing will be a lot of work (right now, it's booooooooring so I'll have to do some innovative things instead of "press enter -&gt; 1/5 chance of catching a fish") Since I'm adding a special kind of sailing (wich is boring to, right now) I'll eventually add fishing to it. (*prepares for big problems*)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Lastly, there'll be NO choosing between ranger, warrior or mage. You can choose between their weapons though.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Right now I was working on the first dungeon, but after 3 hours of work my computer crashed, and I didn't save anything &gt;.&gt; The release will be between mid-October and end-NOVEMBER. It could still be changed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ah, HOW COULD I FORGET THAT?! After the release, I'm not finished with this game yet: I'll make updates, you know, additional dungeons, towns and minigames (like expansion packs) wich will not be very big files (just plain maps, no additional music and graphics) The legend will never end... Right now, I'm already far on making the basics of the game. When this is finished, the developing will continue much faster. But there are some changes I should tell you about.&lt;br /&gt;First of all, I'm cancelling the farming skill. It was a nice idea, but it worked out HORRIBLE. It looked horrible, it worked horrible and it WAS horrible. Plus, it was very hard to program. No, fishing is just much cooler, so i'll make fishing an extra BIG skill.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Secondly, I've got some details about the area where everything will happen. It will take place in the Lands. The Lands is a very big island with different villages on it: Village of Forest, the Village of Water, the Village of Stone, the Village of Fire, etc. All these are connected by an enormous field: the Field. The only problem (wich CAN be solved, i'm sure of it.) is that player 2 can't attack up or down. Then, after i've finished that, i'll add the power ups! Now, I've got a new idea for a new game!&lt;br /&gt;This will be a game with an ABS (Action Battle System) as you probally already knew. It will be like Secret of Mana/Zelda (Especially Zelda Four Swords for the Nintendo GameCube) and maybe a few Final Fantasy thingies.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, the game will have 2 main characters. This will be done with a "caterpillar system"; you control one of them, the other one follows. You can swap between them anytime This will be used for puzzles, boss fights, etc. The puzzles and boss-fights will be Zelda-like. One of the two will be a warrior. For the second hero, you'll be able to choose from the following: Mage, Warrior and Ranger. This will also be used for puzzles; puzzles require magical spells, others will need&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Another big addition is the multiplayer; Vs. and co-op. This is a pretty big challenge to program, but I'm already far right now. The multiplayer (max. 2 players) will be a big part of the game, but it's especially about the singleplayer.&lt;br /&gt;I'm aiming for a minimum of 10 hours of gameplay for the singleplayer. There will also be minigames.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'll add some special skills:&lt;br /&gt;-Cooking&lt;br /&gt;-Fishing&lt;br /&gt;-Gardening&lt;br /&gt;-Pet Raising&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Cooking will be necessary for pet raising, and will also help you recovering HP.&lt;br /&gt;Fishing will be necessary for cooking.&lt;br /&gt;Gardening will be necessary for puzzles/cooking.&lt;br /&gt;Pet raising is just for fun, maybe for minigames and puzzles.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;THE VS MULTIPLAYER&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This will take place in small maps filled with obstacles. There are items/power-ups, wich will sometimes appear on a random place in the map. It's just a 1 vs. 1 deathmatch, with some NPC monsters.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Power-Ups:&lt;br /&gt;STRENGTH POTION: Doubles your damage.&lt;br /&gt;DOUBLE SIZE POTION: Doubles your size so you'll become extremely strong for a while.&lt;br /&gt;SPEED BOOTS: Doubles your speed.&lt;br /&gt;Others:&lt;br /&gt;BOMB: By using this, a bomb will be placed on the ground. It'll explode after a while or when the enemy touches it.&lt;br /&gt;SMOKE BOMB: This will create a smog wich makes YOU hard to see.&lt;br /&gt;BLOCKING BLOCK: This block can be put down to block one place. Random size?&lt;br /&gt;CRYSTAL SHIELD: This shield protects you from every attack for a while.&lt;br /&gt;DUPLICATION RING: This will make a duplication of you wich is for confusing your enemy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Co-op multiplayer will take place in newly-designed small maps. You'll have to take out enemies and solve puzzles together. Sometimes, your ways might split up. Then there'll apply a turn-based system (first player 1 completes his area, then it's player 2's turn to solve the puzzles in his room) until you team up again.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The release of this game is planned for October 2006. Well... THE SPRITES! I'm not really good at making sprites, and it's impossible to find them. The same goes for chipsets. I want all of these ripped from a zelda game, but... I can't find them! At least not for RPG Maker XP! I've found some for RPG Maker 2000/2003, but that's not what I need =( Maybe i'll not use ripped chipsets then, and change the characters... NO! Oh man... Announced!</title><content type='html'>Yep, that's right; I'm cancelling WotN! Don't worry, i'll pick up the project later, and make the game anyway. But now, i'm developing something else.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Why, you ask? Well, before I started making Way of the Ninja, I wanted to make a game with an Action Battle System: A Zelda/Secret of Mana like battle system. It's not turn-based, but real time. After days of experimenting, I realized this would be way to difficult for me. But now, thanks to WotN, I learned more and i'm finally able to make this battle system!!!&lt;br /&gt;So, while I picked up The legend of Zelda: The minish cap to play it once again this summer-vacation, I had this wonderful idea of making a Zelda game myself. -To bad that the Minish cap, doesn't work anymore. I can't save anymore- And so, I started this project, and it's quite succesfull! Okay, there's a 1/20 chance i'll cancel this project this week and continue making WotN. But I don't think so.&lt;br /&gt;Later today, I'll post the first details of The legend of Zelda: Nameless. Like i'll do every day, i've added some new updates to the game.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One of the ideas are pets. They won't be very important to the game, actually it's just an extra addition. You'll have to feed them, play with them and eventually (altough this would be pretty hard to program) walk them. The pets won't play a role in the fights. They'll not die if you don't feed them, but they COULD walk away for a few days.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also, i've almost finished my ninja study, so the story will be ready in a few days, hopefully.&lt;br /&gt;I've already got a few ideas. The basic idea is the followig:&lt;br /&gt;-At a rainy day, a dangarous ninja criminal wich has been locked up deep inside the prison of the (currently nameless, ideas are welcome at &lt;a href="mailto:melvin_lg@hotmail.com"&gt;melvin_lg@hotmail.com&lt;/a&gt;) village, escapes. A group of 20 ninja are send to kill him. But this won't be as easy as it sounds.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Later today, i'll post more updates, and post some screenshots of the game.&lt;br /&gt;Tomorrow, I'll eventually tell you how exactly the battle system works at the moment, but remember; anything could be changed. I'll not post the exact details of the system, like the events i'm using for it. It's my birthday today so i'm tottaly into feasts and partying!&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, as you can see, this is daily update, well, 0. Everydy day i'll post a daily update,&lt;br /&gt;unless I haven't worked on WotN at all.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Festivals:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've decided how the festivals will be:&lt;br /&gt;1. the leaf festival&lt;br /&gt;-the first festival wich will take place after 1 hour (2 in game days) of playing. Many minigames, wich have got stuff to do with nature.&lt;br /&gt;2. the water festival&lt;br /&gt;-the second festival. The festival location will be changed into a swimming pool; many water minigames!&lt;br /&gt;3. the fire festival&lt;br /&gt;-the third festival. Everything will have got stuff to do with fire.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Days, weather, seasons:&lt;br /&gt;One in-game day will be half an hour. There will be: morning, afternoon, sunset, night. This will affect the characters: they'll be inside at night, tired at sunset, etc.&lt;br /&gt;The weather for each day will be random: a 1/4 chance of rain. This will not only show rain but, again, also affect the characters (complaining about the bad weather) and change the music.&lt;br /&gt;The seasons aren't added yet. The game is called: Way of the Ninja (working title) But it's not an ordinary RPG: I'm making my own custom turn based battle system! It's my biggest challenge until now: I'll add many details like a day-night system, season system, weather system, and festivals wich take place in your home village!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm not completely sure yet about the storyline. At the moment, i'm studying the history of Japan and the ninja. (even the Japanese language) Because that is what the game will be about: Ninjas. It'll take place in Japan, and i'll use the music of my favourite anime, wich inspired me to make this: Naruto. I'll use (edited) custom sprites of RPG Maker XP, and also some of my own. (But i'm not good at making them) Ah well, i'm aiming for one of the best RPG maker XP games ever, with my own custom battle system wich gives me much more freedom at attacks, fights, bosses, etc. I hope everyone will enjoy it as soon as it's finished!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Planning*:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Demos:&lt;br /&gt;No demos planned yet.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Final release:&lt;br /&gt;Somewhere in september&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;*nothing is for sure yet.
